The Learning Center

Overview

I created this entire project for course EME 6631, Managing Instructional Development, as part of my ISLT master’s coursework at FSU. The conceptual project was based on my own experience at VIPKid. The concept, for the purposes of the course, was “The Learning Center.” The following five documents chart and map out the project from the initial charter, providing a high-level scope, all the way to project closeout, which provides an overview of the lessons learned.

Tools used: Excel, Word

Phase 1: Project Charter and Resource Estimate

This document provides a project purpose, which includes a high-level scope, success criteria, requirements, assumptions, and risks. It also contains a rationale with general objectives. In more detail are the members who will be included in the project through the four project phases and the team structure. The document closes with an estimate of the resource costs and the major milestones with estimated completion dates.

This document provides a more detailed scope and a scope management plan. Also provided in more detail are general descriptions of the expected work to be completed in each project phase. More detail is added to the previous team structure and roles/responsibilities. Additionally, a more detailed budget as well as a risk management plan are provided.

It also includes key actions to mitigate the risks, who is responsible for them, and the desired outcome. Also provided are those overall risks that can impact the project, their severity of impact, estimated probability, source, and steps to address.
